As we inhabited the spaces of the Winkelbau, we tried different unorthodox ways of engaging with the spaces and materials. Consequently, we gained empathy with the place. In our project we wanted to translate this experience to a process for future inhabitants.

As a result, a manual emerged. This manual describes the event-based process, where we rethink the agency of all the actors, and their relations. Especially important to us, was how inhabitants can contribute and engage themselves. In a guided manner, they design and construct the interior of their units, but also take part in deciding on common elements, like the facade and the paths surrounding the Winkelbau.
